For Women in Law

By popular demand, we are excited to launch the Legal Careers Workshop!

The purpose of this workshop is to explore the diverse career paths that a law degree can unlock, provide attendees with practical advice, industry insights, and networking opportunities to help you navigate your career path successfully.

When I was still a law student I was under the impression that becoming an attorney or an advocate was the only career option available to me (and perhaps a law lecturer). As a mentor to law students and law graduates, I know that a lot of law students think the same and I don’t blame you because that is the information that you are mostly exposed to. Once you really take the time to do your research and network, you will realise that there are many alternative career options law graduates can choose from outside of becoming an attorney or an advocate. If you are a law student, law graduate or legal professional, we encourage you to attend what promises to be an insightful, impactful and informative workshop.

Our panel will consist of a career coach, professionals who have taken the non-traditional legal career path as well as those who have taken the traditional legal career path. The panel discussion will cover various topics, including career opportunities that a BA Law, BCOM Law or LLB degree can unlock, transitioning from a practicing attorney to non-practicing attorney, traditional legal career vs non-traditional legal career and more! We have carefully selected professionals who are well versed on the topics mentioned.
