In this interview she shares her reasons for not choosing the traditional route of practice.
Mapule is a Non-financial risk manager at Standard Bank. Prior to this position, she was an Associate Policy Analyst within the Prudential Authority (PA) at the South African Reserve Bank.
She is the co-lead of Women@PA which is an initiative of the PA geared towards promoting diversity, inclusion and equality.
Mapule specialises in insurance, climate-related risks and financial inclusion (specifically in relation to inclusive sustainable finance/green finance).
In addition, Mapule is also experienced in financial crime, collective investments schemes, privacy and FAIS and market conduct compliance.
Mapule holds an LLB degree (Wits), Postgraduate Diploma in Commercial and Business Law (Wits), Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning Law (UFS) and LLM in Insurance Law and Governance (UP).
Her areas of expertise include AML/CFT, FAIS, POPIA, collective investment schemes (inclusive of hedge funds), Insurance, financial services regulation and supervision, legislative drafting and policy aspects of climate risks/sustainable finance and financial inclusion.
